Thought I'd start this thread to show the progress on the pistol to be auctioned off to support the Green Beret Foundation at this year’s Pro-Am match on Veterans Day at Range 37 PSR, Bunnlevel, NC
This pistol is a 45 ACP Commander... but not just any Commander. It is built on a Government model frame and slide which increases recoil length providing increased reliability and decreasing felt recoil. Stainless steel frame, slide and controls. Frame and slide are from PM Machine. It has a Kart National Match barrel fitted with a threaded tapered sleeve. Marvel Everlast recoil system. Finish will be flat black nitride with tritium sights and VZ grips. Top of the slide and front strap will be stippled. All parts are fully machined, with the majority coming from Nighthawk Custom.
End result will be a extremely reliable, durable and accurate pistol optimized for carry but able to perform anytime!
Last Years GBF Pistol auction: Group was shot at 25 yards.

Government model rails are cut back .09 inches to increase length of recoil over a conventional commander. This provides more time for the following round to fully rise into position before the slide picks it up. Commanders are known for overriding or partly picking up later rounds.
